How to Get Involved
The 90-day comment period for the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) Near-Term Projects (NTPs) is now closed. The Port of Seattle is currently reviewing the comments received through the comment period. The response to comments will be published as part of the Final Environmental Impact Statement.

The DEIS was available for review and comment beginning May 22 and ending August 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT. Printed copies were available at SEA Mezzanine Level above Checkpoint 2, Port of Seattle headquarters at Pier 69, and public libraries in the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, White Center, SeaTac, Tukwila, and Vashon.
Public comments during the SEPA process:
- Allowed the community, including tribes, and other public agencies, to review potential environmental impacts of a proposal before final decision making
- Identified potential impacts or missing information that may have needed more study
- Suggested mitigation measures
- Created a formal record
All comments received during the formal comment period are reviewed and considered as part of the SEPA process. Your input helps the Port of Seattle make informed, transparent decisions. The Port will review and consider all comments and prepare a Final SEPA EIS on the SAMP NTPs, which will address substantive comments made on the Draft EIS and include a record of all official comments received.

Past events
We hosted multiple in-person public hearings, a virtual meeting, and a listening session for attendees to learn more about the plan and submit an official comment. The same information was presented at all meetings in an open house format. Language translation assistance was available at all public meetings in addition to childcare services. In addition to the meetings hosted, Port staff also presented to multiple city councils in the airport area and to community organizations.
